RMI Expeditions
RMI has been around since 1969 and has been setting the standard as a mountaineering guide service ever since. As the Expeditions Logistics Manager, I am the year-round person responsible for ensuring each mountaineering trip has the gear, food, technology, and supplies needed wherever they are in the world.
In the summer:
- Leading a team of four others to support the mountain guides with day-to-day Rainier summit climb operations as well as planning and preparing for a variety of unique trips all over Washington
- Packing food and radios for daily Rainier summit climb programs
- Inspecting and repairing gear
- Purchasing food and miscellaneous supplies
- Planning logistical gear and technology needs for various programs in the North Cascades and on various Rainier climbing routes
- Overseeing shuttle busses and van up-keep



In the winter:
-Communicating with guides to understand equipment need and inventory in Alaska and various international trip locations
- Preparing food, gear, and technology for international trips
- Preparing for summer programs in Alaska by working closely with the Alaska Program Manager to plan, source, purchase, pack, and ship all food, gear, and miscellaneous supplies needed for up to 10 summer expeditions of 12 people each
- Building a needs assessment, projections, and ultimately, purchasing food and equipment for the coming summer
- Hiring a team for summer operations
- Monitoring employee housing for maintenance needs and doing small fixes
- Shuttle vehicle up-keep
