I understand the power of the wilderness as a catalyst to change people, deeply, and not just while they're out on the trail.

 

I've been working in the outdoor industry for about 12 years and completed a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Recreation and Education from Ohio University along the way. I am currently pursuing a masters in Recreation Studies. I love educating and leading in the outdoors and in an adventure education and programming capacity. I’m passionate about developing adventure programs, and delivering meaningful experiences that connect people with wilderness and help them grow as individuals. AND, of course, working on flexible teams that make it all happen!

 

With this site, I aim to share my experience and artifacts of my experience, as well as my passions like climbing, backpacking, and skiing.​ Feel free to peruse and contact me with any questions!

Philosophy Statement​

I have often considered different leaders' qualities, characteristics, and actions over the years in the recreation field. My favorite leadership philosophy is one I learned from a young age in Scouting, and has remained steadfast since. Leading by example. I feel this is the simplest way to be a leader. It is consistent and effective. Doing the right thing or calmly setting an example for others to follow can be an extremely effective tool.
