AMGA SPI (Single Pitch Instructor) Course
Rock Climbing Professionalism
I have completed an SPI course through the American Mountain Guide Association. The AMGA SPI is the only internationally recognized single pitch climbing instructor certification program in the United States. It is a great course to share and learn industry best practices and help promote the professionalism of the climbing industry.
The 3 day course consisted of:
- Professionalism
- Teaching techniques
- Risk management
- Group site organization
- Institutional anchor building
- Climbing site conservation/LNT
- Assistance/rescue skills
